Chose a 3 hour drive home rather than staying another night
We had driven over to Shropshire for a friends wedding and upon arriving after our 3 hour drive we checked into our room and found it very unclean, spiders were in the room and there was mould/damp in places.
The bathroom looked like something from a SAW movie, the shower is essentially a wet room and after using it the whole floor became sticky, walking on it in bare feet left me feeling like I needed another shower and walking on it in socks meant I had to change them every time I went into the bathroom. During the night I had also been bitten on my legs by god knows what. We decided to ask for a refund for our second night and the manager completely ignored us whilst in earshot of our conversation with the waitress, this was topped off by the fact that the waitress then came over 10 minutes later with our refund in cash, without the manager even acknowledging us or asking if everything was ok. To summarise, we chose to not drink for the whole day at a wedding and drive the 3 hour drive home on the night instead of staying here for another night.
