Booker Beware

This is a hostel, not an hotel.

The breakfast was awful; the orange juice and coffee were undrinkable. Cutlery and crockery had to be washed after use in a grubby sink. Neither the butter nor jam were in individual containers, thereby raising the risk of cross infection. The shower tray flooded and water wouldn't drain away from the bath. The majority of guests were back packers sharing rooms with strangers coming and going throughout the night banging the front door. Despite relating my dissatisfaction at reception and asking for the management to contact me, I've heard nothing. There were no lifts in the Secret Garden or the Kiak and it was necessary to walk from one to the other after registering and when checking out. The whole stay was an expensive nightmare.

I choose this hotel for this trip with my sister and cousin because I had been there in 2009 and I had pretty good memories from then.

The problem was that I didn't realised the now the hotel had changed owners and became a "hostel" and therefore the quality was worst then the one I remembered. The room was big enough and not bad but either the air conditioner nor the Tv-set functioned. The shower room was big enough but once again, the shower had a door broken and there was drainage problems with resulted in a floor completely wet. We had to put the towels to avoid the water getting in the room. Wen we asked for new towels the receptionist who hardly spoke either Italian or English told me that I had to rent the new ones since this was not a hotel but a hostel. I'm sad that the impressions I had from my first stay there became just a nightmare. I would not recommend this place to none.
