Well run and friendly hotel
Hotel was lovely, a traditional large privately run hotel with lovely gardens.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel was very clean, but our room was a bit small. Beds comfortable and very quiet so had a good nights sleep. The only thing that let it down was the food, which was not great, but still edible.
Customer Service reached bare minimum standard.
For such a large hotel, so popular with tourists to Snowdon, the level of customer service here really only reached the bare minimum standard.
No-one was rude, but no-one was overly friendly either. In the bar I was sent back to my room for my proof of pre-authorised payment before our drinks would be served - fair enough. But even when I returned, our bottle of sparkling wine was left on the bar in front of us, unopened, for up to 20 minutes before I could catch the eye of the barman and ASK if he would open it for us. It was an unusually hot night and the fan in our room didn't work. We asked for help to fix or a replacement and was told neither was possible. I went down to reception to ask if they could check any of the unused rooms for a spare fan. Apparently not an option. They then charged me for some tepid water from the fridge. In the morning we were served tea from a very dirty teapot. All in all, a somewhat disappointing experience from a hotel that had every opportunity to shine.
