Beautiful Traditional Hotel, but with all mod cons......

Beautiful Hotel.

The building is very traditional, long corridors, high ceilings, plush colours, but it also has everything you need for the modern life we lead, free Wi-Fi, a standard size kettle and a decent size sink in the en-suite and a tiled shelf. It may seem small things, but it makes your stay normal not restricted. We stayed for two days for a concert. We didn't like Leicester at all, it has changed beyond recognition over the years so we stayed in the first evening. (The concert was the second evening.) All the staff were lovely, the breakfast waitress was so sweet, nothing was to much trouble, you couldn't fault the staff there. Although the chef needs to check how he makes scrambled eggs, strange colour and very odd consistency. I felt was a little over-priced, but it seemed popular with business people, who presumably get it all paid for by the companies, for training etc, or claim it on their expenses. The room was spotless, very well laid out, with a bedside table and lamp at both sides, not sure where you'd put all your clothes if you were coming for more than two days, not much hanging space. The room service was fast and efficient but £5.50 for two slices of bread, ham, coleslaw and a few crisps is a bit steep, (it did mention salad with it, but not even a lettuce leaf or tomato. You can make a sandwich worth the money, I've had them, but never mind, a small gripe. Great Hotel with wonderful staff and great rooms, I'd recommend the Belmont.

Belmont Hotel Leicester

The shower did not work.

The lift was out of action in the morning. One light in the room was broken. We told the staff about all these. The staff were polite and helpful, and said they would mend the faults.
