Very noisy toilet.
Could not flush it during the night because it made such a racket for ages.
Overnight in Leeds for Easter
The Met Hotel is in a very handy location if, as me, you are new to Leeds.
It is close to the train station and just out of the city centre, but within an easy walk of the main attractions. Parking was offered at the hotel, but the car park was full when I arrived. The hotel charge a high fee for parking between £10 & £20 for overnight stays, and they offer, as an alternative, parking at the station, again at £10 for 8 hours of £20 for up to 24 hours. That is a significant surcharge to the stay. I found parking, instead, in Park Place, a street just opposite the hotel, and had no worries about off-road parking for the night. Parking cost me a £4.00 for almost 24 hours - so somewhat difference to the charges levied by the hotel and station - yet it is not advertised as an option.
My room was immediately opposite the lift, and as a wedding party was in full swing when I arrived, the lift and very loud occupants seemed to be in constant use until around 4am. Not a peaceful night's sleep, despite a reasonably sized room and comfortable bed. Breakfast offered a good selection of food and nice coffee. The only improvement would be the attitude of staff, who showed me to a seat and walked off. Even a good morning, would be appreciated. It should not be assumed that guests know it is a self service breakfast.
For the cost, and location, I would stay here again, but having met friends at another hotel, just a little closer to the city centre, I would say they had a markedly different overnight experience, for only a small amount of extra cost..
