My Stay At Jury's Inn Cork
My family and I stayed at Jury's Inn Cork Friday night and Saturday night.
Overall, the stay wasn't bad, but it wasn't the greatest economy hotel I've stayed at either. Initially I booked a room for Saturday only, but decided to see if we could come a day early. Luckily for us, Jury's Inn had a room for us Friday. However, this seemed to cause some confusion for the entire weekend and beyond. I was called on my mobile phone by the front desk staff on Saturday as I was site seeing asking how many nights I intended on staying which was weird because I confirmed my 2 day stay with the very same front end staff when I checked in. Twice. It does not inspire confidence to be asked several times how many nights you are staying.
Additionally, the website we booked through implied that Jury's Inn had a pool and free parking. Imagine my frustration when we pulled up and the parking lot of 25 spaces was full and was first come, first serve. We had to pay for parking a couple of blocks away. Additional frustration came when we asked about the pool--there wasn't one. Instead, for a €5 per person fee, we can go a couple of blocks a way to another hotel and use their pool. Dinner was poorly cooked and took way too long to deliver to the table. I had the swordfish and it was so overcooked, it had lost any flavor and was the consistency of rubber. The other meals were nearly as bad. If we hadn't been so hungry, we would have sent it back. But, as it took such a long time to get food to the table, we decided to just grin and eat it. The room itself was clean and tidy. It worked great for our needs. The only improvement would be to remind other guests that hallway noise travels into other guests rooms so quiet is necessary in the hallways. We were woken up by LOUD guests returning to their rooms late. Overall, I would not stay here again. There were cheaper hotels available. The reason I booked this one was the free parking and the pool.
