About the hotel
It has managed to preserve many historic features of the town, such as the round house, horsepond and many other local buildings, dating back to the 16th century. The hotel is owned and managed by Daniel Patrick along with family and staff. Our aim is to provide our guests with a warm welcome and an enjoyable stay, whether it is for business or pleasure.
The hotel has two main bar areas, offering an extensive range of excellent food and drinks. We also have a restaurant a full a la carte menu 7 days a week. The main bar has retained its character, and has an original inglenook fireplace with an elm beam, said to date back to the 10th century. The bisro bar is an open dining area with an extensive menu. The George Hotel, which was originally a coaching inn, now has 17 individually decorated en-suite bedrooms. We are able to offer colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, radio, telephone, iron and board and hairdryer. We also have five courtyard bedrooms, one of which is our honeymoon suite. They all have external access allowing us to accept pets. Please let us know in advance if you require one of these bedrooms. Pets are also permitted in the main bar area.

Will be nice when refurbish finished
Nice old thatched building with good food.
Was in the middle of refurbishment when we went. Would go again.
Steady away but over priced for what is was
Stayed here for a Friday and Saturday night and stayed in the courtyard rooms.
Bedroom was ok but nothing to write home about, small in size which we wasn't too bothered with
Felt this hotel was overpriced really for what it was, had awful nights sleep due to the bed being unbelievably creaky even when just turning over. Even the guest next door could hear this. Also people live above these rooms and could hear someones dog barking and tumble drier working which was a bit of a pain. The hotel service I thought was ok, not many smiles but the best bit about the stay was the food, the evening meal there and the breakfast we thought was lovely quality.
Overall a nice situated hotel but wouldn't stay here again if heading back to castle Cary.
