Quiet and Central

We just stayed in the hotel for one night and we couldn't fault it.

The hotel is conveniently situated on a quiet street within walking distance of the closest Metro station (Schuman) and only a few stops from the main centre. Around the hotel there are a few restaurants and bars if you want to stay local. The room itself was an excellent size and standard with good quality furniture and a very comfortable bed. We had a city room on the second floor. We would definitely recommend the hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Nice Hotel - Road Numbering Had Me Flummoxed Temporarily - Busy Area - Staff A Little Curt

A brief stay in Brussels saw me book Newhotel as a conveniently located stop-over.

I took a really lovely stroll through the city, as I arrived quite early, and found the contrast between the centre and the European District, where the hotel is, really quite surprising - there's a lotta traffic up there ... but you know, it *is* a city.

Initially I couldn't find road numbers 25-27 either. I've got A-levels, I'm not usually one to be puzzled by numerics and geography but, just to let you know, the odd numbers on Boulevard Charlemagne start further up the road than the evens. Took me a few circuits of the European Commission to work that out :)

The facilities were great, hotel clean and excellent value for money. I even got 'upgraded' but maybe they say that to all the girls ;) ... The lady who checked me in was pleasant, as was the night porter but I have to admit the chap who checked me out was a little bit rude. I'm prepared to put it down to cultural/language differences and gratefully he spoke English as my Flemish and French are not what they used to be ... but still. He could have been a little more welcoming I felt. Other than that, amazing value for money and a good find.
