About the hotel
Waterloo House is in the perfect location to explore all that Lynton & Lynmouth have to offer. Built in 1828, this Georgian property retains many of its original features and is believed to be the oldest guesthouse in Lynton. All of our rooms have a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, hairdryer, and tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk and homemade biscuits.
Located centrally in the old village, there are many places to eat and drink, a number of galleries exhibiting the work of local artists, a cinema showing current films and a museum close by. The picturesque Valley of Rocks is just a short stroll away, as is the water-powered Cliff Railway to Lynmouth and the esplanade. For walkers, the South West Coast Path, Coleridge Way, Tarka Trail and Two Moors Way are on the doorstep, with other activities like horse riding, cycling and Blue Flag beaches nearby. Using the best of Devon’s produce, guests can enjoy a full English with vegetarian option, waffles or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs in our breakfast room. We are happy to cater for those with special dietary needs, if advance notice is given. Guests are also welcome to relax in the residents lounge. We regret that due to the nature of the building, the staircase makes it unsuitable for those with small children.

Happy return to Waterloo House.
It was good to return to Waterloo House again the other day.
I received the same friendly welcome as last time and was happy to be in the same comfortable room. Christmas cake was on the tea tray this time. Lovely breakfast with some very interesting and tasty locally sourced bacon.
I spent a very comfortable night.
The homemade shortbread on the tea tray was a nice touch. The impressive breakfast I had the following morning was prepared from locally sourced food and the coffee was good too. The owners were very friendly.
