It's basic, but you get what you pay for!
not a lot wrong with this place, so long as you recognise that you're not paying a lot, so expect the same.
The room (room 5) was quite large, and clean. The beds were fairly comfy and the shower was just about powerful enough. The best way I could describe the room is it's reminiscent of Travelodge 5 years or so ago. It's very basic, but clean and keenly priced. We didn't experience any problems while we were there and the staff we encountered were all friendly.
This was a perfect last min get away. Great friendly service and clean comfortable rooms
We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Royal Oak, it is a fabulous building and the decor has been well chosen.
The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Our room was a decent size and again thoughfully decorated. We ate there the first evening and the 2 vegetarian choices were good but maybe they could add a few more vegi choices on the menu.
The only think I would add is maybe not have music playing in every room downstairs while eating\drinking, as it's impossible to cater for everyones taste.
