About the hotel
The new inn Hotel is ideally situated at the foot of the stunning Berwyn Mountains, within easy reach of Oswestry, Bala and Welshpool. A character property with roaring log fires in winter months makes this cosy and welcoming inn a perfect place to stay. The New Inn provides good quality accommodation and serves excellent food and beer.
Also perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with walking trails, mountain biking and nearby lakes all with breath taking scenery on the doorstep. Surrounded by Wales’ natural beauty the inn is very much the centre of village life. Llangynog is an ideal base for visiting many local attractions such as Pennant Melangell Church, Lake Vyrnwy, Bala, Llanrhaeadr Waterfall and with the coast only just over an hour away you will soon have a full diary of days out. The New Inn has an excellent reputation for good food. The extensive menu ranges from delicious homemade soups, omelettes, curry dishes and steak pies, to your usual bar meals such as scampi, lasagna, gammon and a selection of steaks. Sunday lunch at The New Inn is not to be missed. With a choice of meats and fresh seasonal vegetables at a very reasonable price. To avoid disappointment booking is highly recommended! Sometimes known as the Welsh Lake District, Llangynog is 5 miles north of Llyn Vyrnwy Lake, 11 miles south east of Bala Lake and 14 miles south east of Llyn Celyn Lake. It also has easy access to the town of Llanfyllin, and lies just 20 minutes from one of the Seven Wonders of Wales, the Pistyll Rhaeadr, or the Rhaeadr Falls. Bear in mind distances are as the crow flies and that the journey might be considerably longer . . but then that is all part of the fun of walking. If you enjoy walking, then Llangynog is the place for you. There are plenty of beautiful walks around both the village and the surrounding area, offering incredible panoramic views.
