Sadly very noisy this time..
I have stayed here before and can't fault the room, the comfort of the bed, the cleanliness, the shower room etc...
but the noise this time was quite bad. I hadn't been aware that there was to be live music (on a Thursday night)... it was incredibly loud and then at chucking out time, until about 1 am there seemed to be a lot of drunken revelers in the street below. That is my only complaint and the pub does provide earplugs, but I don't like to sleep with earplugs in so it was my choice I suppose.
I would go back however, if I knew it was not a live music night.
Value for money
Large bedroom and bathroom.
6foot bed, cosy duvet. Little touches, muffins, juice, tea & biscuits, plus a jug of water, very acceptable and a nice touch. Plenty of hot water for your bath. Lovely town.
