About the hotel
The Hallmark Hotel Derby Midland is a Grade II listed landmark, with a classic red façade, colonnaded entrance and walled garden, located just opposite Derby train station, within walking distance of the city centre and just 15 minutes from Junction 25 of the M1.
The fine period features of the hotel, such as the original oak doors, panelling and sash windows have been retained and highlighted in the modernisation of the building. The 102 tastefully decorated rooms have comfortable beds, crisp linen and en-suite bathrooms, along with all the modern facilities you would expect from a hotel of this calibre – flat screen TVs, spacious working desks and superfast WiFi, which is available throughout the hotel.
There are also family rooms available at the hotel, which can accommodate two adults and one little guest.
The Brasserie at the Hallmark Hotel Derby Midland has a modern British and European menu, offering everything from beer battered fish and chips to arancini, pork schnitzel to Goan prawn curry! The hotel also offers a family menu and lighter bites in the bar.
The hotel is located at the heart of Derby – a short walk will take you to the Museum and Art Gallery, home to the biggest collection of Joseph Wright’s paintings, or to the Cathedral Quarter as well as the city’s buzzing night life. It is the ideal base if guests are coming to explore the Peak District, or visit several National Trust properties like Chatsworth and Calke Abbey, or for those that are planning a thrill filled trip to Alton Towers, which is only 45 minutes away.
Please note that there is a charge of £8 per 24 hours for guests to leave their car in the car park – but whatever time you arrive, you will have the full 24 hours for just £8. If you need to use the car park for longer once you’ve checked out, please ask at reception and they will discuss the additional charges with you.
