Base for a wedding
Staying briefly for a wedding, wqe didn't know the area.
As it turned out, Hillingdon Prince was a good place to stay (though selected as being the cheapest available). For us, the hotel was walking distance from the centre of Reading - we're pretty good walkers though. The buildings (five of them) weren't new, but there seems to be a rolling refurbishment programme, so for example we had twelve plug sockets in our room - an the TV was already hardwired. I'm not a gym user, but our godson who was also staying appreciated free access to the five impressive pieces of equipment in the one in the Kendrick Building. Car parking was adequate, but I think there could be a problem on really busy nights. Again, it was no problem for us, but there didn't seem to be a lift to the upper floors. Finally, if you're seriously obese, don't accept room 215 - the toilet is in a VERY tight corner, and might prove to be unusable. For us, though, this was a good stay at the best price available, and in a convenient location.
