Sussex Lodge Guest House

Accommodation was adequate for the purpose required once the refurbishment is undertaken I would not hesitate to recommend.

House of Horrors

I stay in approx.

two B&B's per week. This is without question the worst I have ever experienced & the first that I have felt compelled to tell the world about. There were so many problems here I had to make a list so I wouldn't forget them all. 1. The door lock was broken so you couldn't open or close the bedroom door easily. 2. The shower hadn't been cleaned since the last occupant as there was an empty shampoo bottle on the floor inside. 3. With the exception of the main room light & the single bulb in the bathroom all bulbs had been removed & the general state of the electrics caused me concern. 4. The floor hadn't been hoovered in a very long time & the carpet was also stained. 5. The divan beds had their draws removed. 6. There was no litter bin in the room. 7. The crockery was all dirty. Coffee, tea & sugar sachets were spread untidily across a tray left on the desk. 8. Breakfast wasn't included in the price & wasn't made very clear when the booking was made. 9. This last point isn't the fault of the owners & ordinarily I wouldn't mention it. This B&B is on an extremely busy road & my room didn't have double glazing. The road traffic is busy throughout the whole night so I think I probably only managed to get about two hours sleep. In the morning I would have raised these points with the owner but the main house was locked & the "lodge" key I had wouldn't permit me access, all I could do was post the key & leave disgruntled.
