a little gem

We stayed for a weekend at the start of October.

The apartment was very clean and well decorated throughout. There were some nice little touches, like milk in the fridge and complimentary biscuits, this was very much appreciated. The apartment eas easy to find and access - the instructions were spot on. Free parking was a bonus. The location was perfect, overlooking the river but within walking distance of the shops, restaurants and bars. We would be happy to stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone. A great weekend!

Lovely flat in a great location

I stayed in this property for 2 nights at the beginning of July (mon-wed) with a group of friends.

The instructions provided by the owners were excellent and we didn't have any problems finding the flat. The flat is located right on the river and has lovely views of the castle. It's right in the centre of Kendal and all the shops/bars/cafes/restaurants are in walking distance. There is one parking space with the flat, but if you have more than one car there are several car parks in walking distance and you can purchase 3 to 7 day passes. We left one car in the car park for three days and it was fine. The beds in the twin room were extremely comfortable, one of the group did complain that the mattress on the double bed was too soft, but this was more personal preference rather than a problem.

There was a welcome pack when we arrived containing tea, coffee, milk and biscuits which was lovely after a long drive.

My only negative is the lack of WIFI, Kendal is black hole for internet reception, and WIFI would have been useful in helping us find somewhere to eat, so that we didn't have to wander round in the rain to find a place to eat. We also found that a lot of the restaurants nearby were closed on a Monday night.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this flat and Kendal as a good base for exploring the Lakes.
