About the hotel

Withy Cottages are situated down a quiet lane on the edge of the beautiful Somerset Levels where they combine peace and tranquillity with the convenience of being easy walking distance to Langport with its pubs, restaurants and shops. Ideal for weekly, mid week or weekend stays for families, couples on a romantic holiday or special interests such as walking, bird watching, fishing and visiting the many national trust houses and historic monuments nearby. Huish Episcopi and Langport are situated at the heart of the beautiful Somerset Levels mid-way between the county town of Taunton and Yeovil.

The ancient beauty and diverse wildlife of the area makes it one of the landscapes that have inspired many artists and photographers as well as drawing visitors from all over the world. The ancient Muchelney Abbey is less than 2 miles from Huish Episcopi and Glastonbury Tor is only 12 miles away. Dating from the early 1800's these blue lias stone cottages would have originally been thatched. It is believed that Withies were washed in the stream that runs in front of the cottages which were then stripped and dried in the back gardens before being made in to withy products. The cottages have been tastefully renovated with many original features restored, we have decorated and furnished the cottage as if we were to be living there ourselves and we believe that we have made a truly comfortable home from home using only the very best to ensure that your stay with us is a wonderful experience. No 1 Withy- double and a twin room No 2 Withy Cottages - double and a twin with adult size bunk beds. Hotel quality bed linen with soft downy duvets and pillows. Its cosy sitting room has an open fire together with 2 comfy sofas a dining table that seats four and Freesat TV, Gas central heating a fully equipped kitchen. Outside there is a private sunny patio area with seating for 4 with a BBQ. Cottages can be booked as a pair with Withy House and Willow the vintage caravan.

Charming little cottage

A lovely, comfortable and well equipped cottage.

Would heartily recommend. The breakfast provisions were plentiful and tasty - we missed a pepper grinder for our scrambled eggs but that was a minor consideration. We had a great supper in the Rose and Crown - home-made beef and ale pie and veg all round. A traditional and quirky pub but beware - no card machine. There are other eating choices ( and a cash-point) in Langport which is a short(ish) pleasant walk across the fields. Mary was very friendly and welcoming. A fantastic stay all round.

Lovely cottage, great welcome package

Great provisions, wood, food in the fridge and bread in the cupboard.

Lovely little cottage, free wifi, a few games and thankfully a cake tin and kenwood blender!
