About the hotel
The pub compromises a traditional games room with external courtyard smoking facilities, a dining area and a snug. Upstairs is a fantastic function room with private bar and 4 letting bedrooms. Adjacent to the pub is the small but adequate car park.
The pub is famous for traditional community activity and family based fun. To add, there is a great pool and live sports following. Weekly live music, a quiz night, themed food nights and great coffee mornings all play a part in pub activity. The pub serves traditional pub Fayre as well as being famous for a great steak night and cocktails offer. A great range of wine, coffee and cask ale is available. Trade comes from the local villager’s and shoppers during the off season but from far and wide during the peak season to take advantage of the stunning local scenery and many available walks. Minthorpe is is surrounded by a wealth of history, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, such as Leighton Moss, and a wide range of visitor attractions. Within walking distance there is Milnthorpe's new Millenium Square, the estate of Dallam Towers, the Kent estuary with its wealth of wildlife, to name but a few attractions. Milnthorpe has surroundings of peaceful tranquillity. The River Bela winds lazily through parkland to the Kent Estuary at Sandside, where the dramatic expanse of Morecambe Bay has a backdrop of brooding Lakeland Fells. At Arnside, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are many walks through wooded hills and along the rocky shore to enjoy

Well worth booking
We were welcomed from the second we walked in and through out our stay.
I would recommend The Bull's Head to anyone as well worth a stay.
Perfect family room
Booked a family room expecting a double and single within the same room and did wonder how we'd get on after our toddler wanted lights out for sleep....
To our amazement, what we actually got was two rooms( plus en suite) The single bed was in a small room between the bedroom and bathroom. Nice contemporary style, really friendly owners. We stayed on a Saturday night, no noise from the pub at all. Little bit of road noise but negligible really and I'm a light sleeper. Brilliant solution for families, great location for south lakes - 15 mins from haverthwaite steam train to lake Windermere.
