A nice old building opposite Lister Park around 25 minutes walk from the centre of town and about 10 minutes to the football ground.

The room was clean and comfortable, but a bit on the small side. There is a proper bar and restaurant at the hotel. My reservations are that the bar does not serve cask beer, and that the receptionist, whilst polite was more interested in trying to obtain ID than anything else. Apparently it is a police requirement that photo ID should be produced, or alternatively she needed a photocopy of my credit card. I have never come across this in Britain before. In the end we compromised with a photocopy of my Nectar card.

overnight stay

The staff was friendly when we arrived showing us to our room and being very helpful.

The room looked OK at first but the bed was a big let down. The place was clean and has all the facilities expected but the hotel only supplies breakfast no evening meal. The room has recently been renovated but attention to comfort would have made a good stay.
