Stables At The Vale
100% except for the mattress.
Had a one night stay at the Stables at the Vale with my partner.
A very impressive conversion, with tasteful, modern decoration and furnishings. Lovely comfortable breakfast room which doubles as a lounge area. Reception area with fresh cakes and fruit to help yourself to, also refrigerated bottled water. Room pretty basic. Tea/coffee/ milk and couple of basic biscuits. Think they could have expanded slightly on these offerings, maybe decaf, fruit teas & hot choc. Ensuite also very basic supplies of shower gel and shampoo...no luxury extras. Lovely big soft towels tho. The bed was the major let down here A very hard mattress which you could feel the springs through, even just running your hand over it. It did stop us having a good nights sleep and is the single reason why we wouldn't stay here again, which is a real shame as the breakfast was very good and the service received from the owners sister was A1.
