About the hotel
The Clark Family are ready to welcome you to their three storey Victorian terraced home. We offer room only and bed and breakfast rates in our five bedrooms, 3 en-suite and 2 which share a bathroom. We are 1.
5 miles from the bus and train station and 8 miles from the airport and are well served by buses. We do not have 24 hour check-in, if you want to arrive before 5pm or after 10pm we cannot guarantee this so please enquire, there is normally no problem at weekends and during Scottish school holidays. Children are welcome, a cot and highchair can be provided for infants. We are located in a residential area of North Edinburgh, midway between the Royal Botanical Gardens and the River Forth. We have limited private parking, however there are no on-street charges. There is a payphone on the ground floor, a hairdryer and ironing facilities are available upon request. Pets are welcome by arrangement. For shopping the city centre is ideal: Princes Street houses a great many stores including Jenners, the oldest independent department store in the world, and the St. James Centre and Princes Mall provide even more shops. There are other shopping opportunities away from the city centre however - Ocean Terminal is a 20 minute walk from us, or the Gyle Shopping centre a 30 minute bus ride (No. 21). There are many bus tours you can use, including the Britannia Tour, City Sightseeing Tour, Edinburgh Tour and Mac Tours City Tour, all of which depart from Waverly Bridge. If you enjoy sight seeing then why not take a trip to Edinburgh Castle and get a magnificent view of half of Edinburgh from the battlements? Or to see the whole city visit Holyrood Park and climb Arthur's Seat. You could also visit Edinburgh Zoo.

Falcon Crest Guest House
The smell in the corridor when you first go in is quite over bearing, not unpleasant, but still uncomfortable.
The room was fine. Would have liked some shampoo etc, and perhaps even WiFi included in the price of £70 a night.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review, I am so pleased that you gave us full marks for customer service. Without knowing the aroma you were aware of on your arrival I am unable to say if it was a guest's perfume or aftershave, a cleaning product or perhaps food. I am glad it appears it was only a temporary and localised smell and that everything was fine with your room. I am disappointed however that you seemed unaware of the shampoo/shower gel that was in your bathroom along with the liquid soap, we should maybe look to have the products more clearly labelled. Our price of £70 for an en-suite double room had no discounts applied as it was for a single night and booked at the last minute when only one room was available. We do have various discounts available for longer stays, advanced bookings and last minute bookings at quieter times.
