Flying Visit to Pork Pie Country

The hotel is currently in the midst of refurbishment and for the money we paid we weren't surprised to be allocated one of the rooms that still requires updating.

Having said that it was clean and good value. The breakfast was delicious, although the service a little slow and a very limited cold selection on offer (basically just cereal and juice). The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful and the noise from the busy bar hardly disturbed us at all. We were disturbed a couple of times by people knocking on the door and then disappearing. We can only assume some bar goers were hoping to find it empty and have a little kiss and cuddle but staff didn't seem too worried about these nocturnal activities and weren't very helpful when we reported it. On the whole good value for the price and a very nice breakfast.

Good Value Hotel

The Harboro is a traditional market town hotel that fell on hard times and is now being renovated.

The renovated sections are excellent - I had the good fortune to get a 'new' room on the first floor, but I'm conscious that not all have been brought up to contemporary standards yet. That being said, the prices do reflect the fact that everything isn't perfect yet. At £45/night I shouldn't have had too many complaints if I had been given an older room on the second floor. Staff were very friendly and the full English breakfast individually cooked to order was one of the best and most generous I've had in months.
