Past b&b experience left us disappointed here
We had just stayed in 2 excellent B&Bs in Northern England and Scotland.
They had become the "norm" in our minds. Sadly, this time our expectations were not met. The room reminded us of a loft store that had been modified for B&B - with en suite. Few home comforts - no TV, no dressing table, only one 'easy' chair, small fan heater.
The en suite was adequate, though not heated. General level of cleanliness was good. The owner, though very well meaning, has lost track of the standard that many B&Bs reach in today's competitive market.
A delightful start to our holiday
We were made very welcome by charming lady owner.
Fourways is a delightful old small country house in a secluded valley near Nailsworth, full of quirky works of art and objects. Our room was excellent, very warm and tastefully decorated. Really comfy bed. Bryony went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good-my husband said it as the best he'd had for ages- local produce, cheeses, jams, cake etc. We really enjoyed our stay in this charming and quirky B&B, would stay there again and would recommend it to friends.
