great location

Very friendly and helpful staff, especially the very late night and early morning ones, room was very small and dated but it was clean and the bed was comfy.

We had a sea view if you climbed up a step and squeezed between a chest of drawers. The room was basic but had everything we needed. The hotel was in desperate need of redecoration and new carpets as it makes it feel unclean. The dining room was lovely with perfect views but the breakfast and tea really was awful, I couldn't eat or drink either. The price was great although I wouldn't want to stay on the top floor again, the room was very cold. I've stayed in hotels that are much worse

1 night stay in February

Our room was large, spacious - very warm with tremendous views of the North Sea.

The decorations were ok and everything was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice bar area as well. The cooked breakfast was reasonable - well cooked and hot although a little frugal and served on small plates. Details such as "how about try porridge with rasins". (on menu). We had to orequest the raisins which when they did appeared old and very dry. The evening meal was very poor value at £14 each for 3 courses and resembeled a school dinner. My partner had a very dry lasagne. Vegetables were boiled lifeless and tasteless. Everything was also served within 2 minutes of ordering. I would stay there again if an offer was available and avoid the evening meal.
