About the hotel

Ty Mawr is located at the foot of Mount Snowdon. There is no B&B closer to Snowdon than our place. The Rhyd Ddu Path to the summit starts 200 meters away, the Snowdon Ranger path starts 1.

5 miles away. We are an ideal base for walkers, cyclists and steam train enthousiasts (as the Welsh Highland Railway passes through Rhyd Ddu). Behind the B&B you'll find Mynydd Mawr and the popular Nantlle Ridge. A new feature to the village is going to be a multifunctional path to Beddgelert, it will open in May. At the end of the day you can relax in the Tearoom and enjoy one of Menno's Dutch pancakes!

Perfect B and B

I booked in the day we were travelling.

I spoke briefly to the owner on the way down and he was friendly and very helpful. When we arrived the place was buzzing with activity and the smell of pancakes!. Located within 100metres of one of the trails up Snowdon it obviously had fantastic views and the village itself is a throwback to old times. The room was small but cozy and clean. Their attention to detail is fantastic if u had forgotten toiletries or towels all were there for you. The breakfast and snacks were healthily cooked with plenty extra toast and coffee. Our hosts treated us like family and my 10 year old son loved the place. There is no better place to stay for a Snowdon experience.

Lovely cosy B&B

Emma and Menno are great hosts, very friendly and knowledgeable of the area.

Room was cosy, warm and welcoming. Breakfasts and cakes are excellent. Highly recommended.
