A Great Hotel - Would Stay Again
A great hotel and would stay again.
That said this is 'Shearings' type hotel that makes its trade on coach parties and low cost fixed price deals ( so it appears ). For this it is excellent. In fact overall it is excellent. The issue was paying the best part of £80 a night as a last minute booking - I needed a hotel to attend a wedding. In this context it becomes not great value for money. The staff are absolutely awesome. Friendly. Lovely. Welcoming. Cannot do enough for you. I highly recommend that staff. For what we paid the rooms was small ( but adequate ) and dated ( but adequate ) and the breakfast was the same as those on the 'pensioners' trip special ( but adequate ). The customers were awesome and lovely too. If you are old and cannot do stairs - beware. A number of times I had to travel up and down floors looking for the lift that was stuck due to other elderlies not closing the door properly. Fine for me. Bad news if you can't do stairs. Also - breakfast was in the basement and from the number of people struggling with stairs I am not sure there was a lift to this floor. It looked like it had great in house entertainment. It has been said elsewhere and I echo it. It is what it is. Get it on a great rate and you would rank it higher than I have.
Hotel in desperate need of refurbishment and not worth the £75 per night paid.
Clean but run down.
