About the hotel
Nestled in the heart of the Hambleden Valley in a designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', the Frog is centrally located in the village of Skirmett. An 18th Century coaching inn, The Frog enjoys an enviable location surrounded by the rolling hills of the Chilterns, meadows and masses of wildlife. We have a lovely, flower filled, child-friendly garden with far reaching views across the valley, which is perfect in the summer months.
The public bar is the heart of the Frog. Entering the Frog through the main door, one is immediately greeted by a large roaring fire (throughout the winter months), which is surrounded by leather and oak seating. There’s a well-stocked bar, friendly bar staff and importantly, because the Frog is a Free house, varying specials of beer, wine and spirits are also on offer. Accommodation. We have three rooms available at the Frog, all of which have en-suite facilities, (please be aware one of our room has a bathtub with no shower facility) and all of which include the fantastic 'Frog breakfast'. Each room has a television and views of the valley. The Frog is very quietly situated and a good nights sleep is assured. WE ARE CLOSED BETWEEN 3PM AND 6PM DAILY. Access is NOT available between these times.

85% would recommend it to a friend
fantastic food but accomadation dissapointing
Stayed the night with in laws after seeing good reviews and it was close to nearby Brewery.
Lovely little Pub with loads of character. The Landlord and staff were very friendly. We were very disappointed with the rooms with regards to cleanliness, the carpet was stained. I know it is an old building but overall it could just do with a bit of TLC.
We had a meal in the evening and this was exceptional, as was the breakfast.so a shame that the experience was spoiled by the accommodation.
Quant location with first class and friendly staff
We stayed here for one night prior to competing in the London West Tough Mudder event (and by the way, only 3 miles to the venue meant no long queueing in traffic) and were not disappointed.
The venue is not one you'd come across by accident, hidden as it is in the Oxfordshire countryside, and it delivered everything we needed prior to the main event. It has a very distinct Celtic feel with Irish memorabilia and artefacts alongside traditional English countryside equivalents, and as a proud Celt, i liked this a lot. Our initial concerns about staying in a country inn with a licensed bar downstairs prior to the TM were allayed as any noise was controlled and friendly and did not disturb us, and the locals at the bar were friendly. A slight misunderstanding before check in meant that a double bed had been prepared in our en suite room but the staff were fantastic and very apologetic and resolved this instantly as soon as we raised it, splitting the bed to two singles. Breakfast in the morning was prepared to exact order and the chef was both friendly and engaging (and you'll go a long way to find a better poached egg). The nearby Henley on Thames is a stunningly picturesque town full of character and history and worthy of a visit. Overall, a very impressive experience and, if we come back to TM next year, we are almost certain to come back to The Swan.
