About the hotel
Our 6 new ensuite bedrooms have been thoughtfully and carefully designed with only the finest furniture and we believe the most comfortable beds to be found in Essex. The Hungarian duck down toppers are supported by deep feather duvets, iPod docks and Nespresso coffee machines. Restored and renovated in 2012, six unique bedrooms were added to the Cross Keys award winning food and service.
Each one of the bedrooms is different with its own unique character. The bedrooms provide all the luxuries of contemporary living. Crisp bed linen, hand-sprung mattresses, feather-down duvets, deep free standing baths or monsoon showers are standard. All the comforts of today are here as well – you will find a flat screen television, Wifi, freeview and a personal iPod dock/iPhone charger in your room. You could choose our champagne package with flowers chocolates and champagne on ice!

Fantastic Place - highly recommend!
Stopover on the way to stay with friends - ended up with a lovely room, very comfy bed a shower that had loads of pressure and copious amounts of hot water.
The inclusive breakfast was just as well presented and tasty as the evening meal we had on saturday night. Anyone looking for accomodation in Saffron Walden you wont find better ......
Minor issues - On arrival we waited in the entrance area and few members spotted us but didn't come over to us and I had to go over to the bar to get attention.
The light outside our room in corridor didn't work which left the corridor dark. Staff store room next to our room which said private on the door, but staff made a hell of a noise very late at night and we were trying to sleep, kept hearing the door opening and bang shut and speaking loudly to each other. Couldn't get into the hotel with our key from the outside access point as it never worked when we swiped it. Had a delicious meal but was charged twice as the waiter said it hadn't gone through as the machine wasn't working properly. This had also happened to the table next to us where the waiter used the card machine 3 times. It wasn't until we got home and checked statement that I realised the payment had gone through twice. I tried contacting the hotel by telephone and rang 60 times but was constantly engaged, I emailed and got a response and was told I will be refunded. I found the Manager bent over backwards to help us and was very helpful - staff need more training in customer service.
