A Hidden Gem
The hotel was easy to find and had off-road parking.
The room was very nice with two queeen sized beds and en-suite shower. Tea/coffee/biscuits were on hand and the flat screen TV (digital0 worked OK. The staff were very accomodating and friendly. the small bar had a large variety of reasonably priced drinks and the food was excellent.
Friendly, helpful and unpretentious
I stayed overnight at the Glen on my way back from the Borders Book Festival in Melrose.
The owners (I think they were - it's the only way somebody can be so at ease and natural) were wonderfully friendly, direct and helpful. The food was good and plentiful (and vegetarian options too I was glad to see). I'd happily stay there again - but hopefully when the Scottish weather was less damp and chilly.
