About the hotel

Gellifawr is located in the beautiful Gwaun Valley in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, about four miles from the coast and beaches at Newport Sands. The area in which they are situated is designated a site of special scientific interest. Perfect for walking, bird watching, hiking, cycling, nature watching, beaches, sightseeing or just relaxing in the friendly and comfortable welcoming environment.

This is Bluestone country where the famous stones at Stonehenge originated. The area has many fascinating historical features. It lies in an unspoiled rural area, surrounded by farms, with many footpaths and bridleways and an abundance of wildlife. The nineteenth century stone farmhouse has been lovingly restored and comfortably furnished ensuring a warm welcome to this tranquil and relaxing family run hotel. We also have 15 cottages in various sizes, from one to three bedrooms all beautifully converted from stone farm buildings. All cottages are non smoking. The cottages are situated in a lovely courtyard with a pond, there are seating areas and barbecues for those lazy summer evenings and the cottages are only a stone's throw from the bar and restaurant should you feel like a break from self catering. We do accept pets in some of our self catering cottage. Pets are charged at £5. 00 each. Please contact the hotel to ensure that you are allocated a pet friendly cottage. Pets are not allowed in the Country House. Our newly refurnished restaurant offers a frequently changing menu that is designed & prepared using the finest local produce. We look forward to welcoming you.

Definitely going back soon

Firstly the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The accommodation was clean comfortable and well equipped, all in a beautiful setting. The food was awesome, and a personal visit to our table by the chef for a chat gave that finishing touch. A very enjoyable experience.

One of the best hotels in all the world.

I have stayed in hotels all over the world and Gellifawr is one of the best.

An absolute treat. Friendly helpful staff, fantastic food, beautiful child friendly grounds and gardens and ponds vibrant with wildlife. As a couple of disabled guests that are occasional wheelchair users we were well looked after. A free parking space outside the reception entrance. Porters to carry all our luggage from car to room no problem. We didn't even have to ask, it was offered. Ok there was no lifts (pointed out to us when we booked) but as we can scale stairs this was no problem, bannister was sturdy. Showers are stand in the bath type and could perhaps benefit from a grab handle for safety but our bath was none slip, low sided and we didn't feel unsafe. Stunning views set in an area of outstanding beauty full of wonderful suprises and things to see and do. A perfect joy. Thanks to all who made our stay so wonderful. Adrian Davies-Ratcliffe.
