About the hotel

A warm welcome awaits you at our 1960’s home in the quiet village of Ravensden. “Garth” is a Saxon word for “enclosure” hence the house stands amongst trees, with farmland to the rear and overlooking woodland to the front. The property has 3 rooms in total, a double room, a twin room and a single room and all share a modern guest bathroom with good size bath and shower.

All rooms have a washbasin, fluffy towels, a hairdryer, bathrobes. and full beverage making facilities (tea, coffee, chocolate & bottled water). We have private (off road) car parking available for our customers. There is a good choice of several excellent pubs nearby for evening meals, the closest within a 10 minute walk, others within a mile and a half. . Here in the county town of Bedford, one of England's smallest counties, flanked east and west by tourist hotspots like Oxford and Cambridge and just a 35 minute train ride from Central London, we believe you will have a unique visitor experience, a quiet location yet close to a town full of flavours from cultures around the world.

Quiet and comfortable.

I had a single room in the owners' house.

They let out 3 rooms for B & B, with a shared bathroom which has a good power shower. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. ( I chose a cooked breakfast , and had fruit juice, yoghurt, toast, and a. Cafetière of coffee as well). The owners are nice people who are very friendly . This is a quiet house, and if you want to watch TV loudly at midnight then you're probably better off with a Travelodge. But for a good night's sleep with an excellent breakfast this is good value for money!
