About the hotel

The Yorkshire town of Harrogate attracts visitors for many different reasons. Some will come for the great historic sights and culture so inherent in such a wonderful old spa town while others will be attracted by the more contemporary aspects of a place which is home to the Harrogate International Conference Centre. The town also makes a great base for touring the historic and rural sights of the wider North Yorkshire area.

Perfectly placed for all of these and with all comforts and amenities for an enjoyable stay is Alamah Guest House, an establishment which offers four star bed and breakfast accommodation. Situated just 2 minutes from the Conference Centre, Alamah Guest House is certainly convenient for this and other attractions in town and during any stay guests can enjoy a friendly atmosphere, free WiFi internet connectivity and a good hearty breakfast each morning. Built in the 1880s, the guest house retains many of its original period features with rooms sympathetically decorated in keeping with the style of the property, yet equipped with all the modern features expected from 4* accommodation. All rooms are en suite and with single, double, twin, and family rooms available there is plenty of scope for couples, families, or lone corporate travellers or holidaymakers to enjoy convenient and well equipped Harrogate accommodation. Tariff starts from £55 per night for a single room rising to £78 for a twin, £75 for a double, and from £90 to £120 per night for a family room depending on two to three people sharing. Single occupancy of a double or twin room is £66 per night and £70 per night for a family room. Included in all stays is breakfast, chosen from full English selections or vegetarian alternatives. Within the local area are picturesque villages, market towns, historic castles and abbeys and areas of outstanding natural beauty. In town you can head for some retail therapy or relax in the Turkish Baths or stroll through the Valley Gardens

Relaxing stay in Harrogate- Welcoming owners and beautiful guesthouse

Me and my partner stayed at the Alamah Guesthouse for a weekend break to celebrate my birthday.

Judy and Sue were excellent hosts from the offset, emailing with useful information and maps before we'd even arrived. They were very welcoming and attentive, and the family room that we stayed in was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean, with everything you could need. They even presented me with a candle in my sausage on the morning of my birthday which we had joked about the night before, which was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in Harrogate, couldn't have faulted anything and Judy and Sue really go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Would definitely stay again.

Harrogate guest house The Alamah Kings Road

The Alamah Guest House was nicely situated near the town not far from bus and train station and there are lots to do and see.

Judy and Sue are very friendly and approachable, the service is very good and the breakfast was lovely. Our room was comfortable with lots of storage, very clean with home comforts. The only small negative point I could make which is quite trivial is that the bathroom door needed fixing so there was easier access and it fit the pile of the carpet as it swooshed on the carpet as you tried to open it which was quite noisy during the night when my daughter or I was asleep. We had a lovely stay and would book again. Thanks Judy and Sue.
