About the hotel

Known as 'Chelsea-on-Sea', Burnham Market has an attractive green surrounded by fine Georgian houses and flint cottages. It is the largest of the seven 'Burnham' settlements and boasts a wide variety of independent and specialist shops. Britain's most famous seafaring hero Lord Nelson was born at nearby Burnham Thorpe, and it was his father Edmund, who opened "The Nelson" in 1805.

Situated a stone's throw away from the glorious North Norfolk coastline with its many stunning beaches, wide open spaces and some of the best coastal walks, Burnham Market is the hub of North Norfolk. The perfect place to shop, dine or simply stay awhile and revel in being part of the traditional village atmosphere. Should your stay be for only a few minutes or a few days, we aim to provide the welcome and service you would expect from a long established and traditional Inn.

The Nelson

Very disappointed.

This night proved to be an over priced stay in an extremely small room. The blinds were dusty and the general level of care was low.eg bottles and glasses left out over night so they were they for us to see as we went into breakfast. The shower was pathetic. I feel the owners not the employees who were doing their best were really trying to cash in on the fact that the hotel is in Burnham Market and is called the Nelson. We had three nights along this coast and the others were far nicer and £30 cheaper. We were truly very disappointed.
