About the hotel
The Cross at Kingussie is a family run award winning restaurant with rooms located in the lovely Highland village of Kingussie within the stunning Cairngorm National Park, surrounded by mountains, rivers and lochs. Situated in four acres of riverside grounds, the Gynack Burn flows through the garden to join the River Spey in the village. We have an abundance of native trees, flowers and wildlife including roe deer and red squirrels.
The Cross combines quality with simplicity and good food with a warm welcome. Built as a water powered tweed mill in the late 1800s, The Cross maintains the character and some of the original features of the mill. We were recommended in The Times Travel 22 November 2014 as one of '30 great British winter weekend destinations'. We are open for lunch (3 courses with choices £25), afternoon tea ( sandwiches and cakes £17 ) and dinner. Advance booking is advised. In the evening we serve dinner from 7 until 8. 30 p. m. and offer two menus - either a 3 course menu with choices at £55 or a tasting menu at £60 with optional wine matching. A. A. Two Red Rosettes. Recommended in The Good Food Guide and Michelin guide in 2015. We are also in The Good Hotel Guide in 2015. The Scotsman Restaurant Review for lunch on 27 July 2013 by Gaby Soutar said "what a place this is - a little sliver of heaven". Champagne is served on the terrace in the summer – and drams in a cosy lounge in winter. The wine list is extensive. Dinners are served by an open fire in the stone walled and wood beamed restaurant. There are two comfortable lounges in which to relax and unwind – with many games and books – and a plethora of local information and suggestions for walks and excursions. There are eight comfortable bedrooms, all with large beds and well equipped en-suite bathrooms.

100% would recommend it to a friend
I booked the Cross as a getaway for the weekend for me and my girlfriend and we weren't disappointed, the room was clean and bigger than we expected with a big bathroom.
The owners were helpful, chatty and always there if you needed them. The food was incredible we booked a 3 course meal but ended up with what was 5 courses they also had a great selection of wine and local beers. Would definitely stay again.
Food is fantastic
We stayed to celebrate our engagement and it was fantastic.
Accomodation was great but main attraction was the food. The tasting menu was really exceptional and would definitely love to go back.
