About the hotel

Nestled in the heart of Canterbury, you will find this very peaceful, four star, Georgian guest house. Peregrine House has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. Every room is Ensuite and tastefully finished with co-ordinating soft furnishings.

The breakfast room can be found in the basement, it is a quaint, low ceiling room, with mirrored arches and soft lighting. Probably not suitable for guests over six foot tall! A high quality continental breakfast with fresh ground filtered coffee is freely available during breakfast. To check in to Peregrine House you will need to arrive at Castle House Hotel, which is a sister hotel just a five minute walk away. It is here that you will pay for your room and collect your key. There is no parking at Peregrine House but you will be able to park in the public car park next to Castle House Hotel. The key must be collected at the Castle House the sister hotel until 11. 00pm. It's about a 5 minute walk. Castle House, 28 Castle Street, Canterbury, CT1 2PT We will wait for your visit.

Peregrine House location

Concept of a satellite dormitory doesn't really appeal: check-in is easily 10 minutes walk away.

Parking in Canterbury is always difficult.

Mixed feelings

The good points are the staff, the size of the room and the cooked breakfast.

The bad points are you have to walk with luggage from the main Castle House Hotel to Peregrine House as there is no reception at Peregrine House. You also have to go there to book out and have a cooked breakfast. The walk not too much of a problem in fine weather but would be horrendous in wet and windy conditions. I know hotel rooms in Canterbury City centre are at a premium but compared with some of the guest houses just outside of the city walls this was not great value for money. The wi-fi was diabolical. It dropped out abut three times and when thee was a connection it was slow. My partner enjoyed her cooked breakfast which looked good. I had the continental breakfast and the ham was of the highly processed variety. Would have expected proper quality ham. I am unlikely to stay there again.
