At the very heart of Hadrian’s Wall Trail (0.25miles), on Route 72 Hadrian’s Wall Cycleway, we offer a "Trail Walkers' Package" which includes pick-up and drop-off on the Trail. Brookside Villa B&B is located in a hamlet at the western outskirts of Gilsland, 7 minutes walk from Hadrian's Wall itself, on the border of beautiful Cumbria & Northumberland and at the western edge of the remote & awe-inspiring Northumberland National Park. 45 minutes east is Newcastle upon Tyne—via the historic towns of Hexham & Corbridge. 1/2hour west is Carlisle & little further the Solway Coast. Just 1 hour from Cumbrias Lake District.
Once here friends, couples & families are made welcome and can take tea, a glass of wine, or a locally brewed beer on the garden terrace with great views toward Hadrians Wall or in the homely lounge in front of a log fire. Then explore our menu and enjoy an exquisite home-cooked dinner at c.7pm - local produce, organic, Fairtrade, free-range. 4 bright, contemporary-styled bedrooms offer facilities & services such as robes, hair dryers, TV, radio, hot & cold drinks. Our spotless bedrooms are carefully designed to meet the needs of the most demanding guests after a long day walking, cycling or site-seeing. Comfortable beds with duvets and crisp white linens; ensuite facilities with powerful showers, lashings of hot water and luxury toiletries. Polished wood floors gleam throughout; there are racks for your walking boots, hooks to hang your packs, a drying room, secure cycle storage, overnight laundry.
