My stay at Glenhill was absolutely lovely.
Linda was lovely and the breakfast options that she provided in the morning were wonderful. If I needed accommodation in Worthing I would definitely stay again!
It was a nice room if not the biggest for a double - but it was very clean and tidy and well presented and it had a decent TV if you wanted it and the bed was comfy.
Only one window opened though - and it was open as it was quite a warm 'muggy' day - but the other one wouldn't.. it seemed jammed..not a big deal but it would have been nice if it did. As I understood that the room booked had ensuite facilites though so I was very surprised when being shown to the room to be told 'this is the bathroom' as we passed a door down the hall...albeit it wasn't a bathroom - it was a shower room.... understandable considering the situation.
I was told that none of the rooms had ensuite. A little while later I had to wait to get into the shower room and when I did I couldn't work out how to use the shower ...it seemed to be just cold coming out and after a good 5 minutes of letting it run and twidling knobs every which way they would go I went and found the lady of the house and she obliged by getting it to go warm somehow. It wasn't explained to me where I'd gone wrong or how it should be done..........so I'd possibly have had the same problem the next morning but as I was just staying the one night I decided not to pursue that knowledge. I'm an engineer by trade and don't normally have a problem with getting showers to go hot.
I was allowed to check in at 4pm rather than the 5pm stated ...........and morning checkout is at 10AM. So the room itself was fine but the bathroom facilities could definitely be upgraded (the shower was poor even once it was got going) particularly if you have lots of people sharing one. I don't know how I managed to be of the impression there were ensuite facilities .....I don't think I was the first to be surprised with that though... I book with Laterooms and similar sites quite regularly and have not had that mistake before ....but really it could me I guess ...but be aware. Anyway my thought was that if you are renting out so many rooms (and there did seem to be a lot) at those sorts of prices without ensuite facilities then some of that money could surely be used to ensure that the shared facilities are sufficient (or even very good?) and sadly I didn't feel that to be the case here. I feel another shower room on the floor and both with good showers that are easy to work. So sorry this has a negative slant - as with anything you pay your money and you take your choice. It is a clean, tidy and comfortable place though and if you know beforehand about the bathing facilities it would not be an umwelcome surprise......and it is fine for a short stay even as is ...........albeit it would seem easy to make the improvements as well.
