About the hotel

Penarth Guest House is a spacious detached house with three high quality ensuite guest rooms set in its own grounds at the edge of the village of St Blazey Gate just 5 minutes’ drive from the Eden Project. This part of the south Cornish coastline between the River Fowey to the east and the River Fal to the west is known as the Cornish Riviera for its beautiful gardens, palm trees and fine weather. Outstandingly beautiful and steeped in history, the area offers many attractions for all tastes from award-winning gardens to pirates.

The guest accommodation has been refurbished (winter 2009/2010) to a high standard and all guest rooms are equipped with colour TV, DVD player with Freeview, free wireless internet, trouser press and tea and coffee making facilities. In the village there is a Post Office, Chinese restaurant and The Four Lords, a charming traditional local pub serving tasty food all day and with a special childrens' menu. High chairs are available and there are indoor and outdoor play areas for the little ones. Also with live music from local bands weekly. For those who like nothing better than visiting historic castles, houses and gardens there are plenty! One of the most visited attractions in Cornwall is the Eden Project (just 5 minutes' drive from Penarth Guest House). Also nearby are the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock House and Gardens and the castles of Caerhays and Restormel.

Excellent place to stay, very good value for money

We stayed there as it was close to The Eden Project.

Mine Host was very friendly and made us welcome when we arrived after 22:00. Worth every penny that it cost us to stay there. Would recommend to others, especially if visiting The Eden Project which was only a few minutes away. The noise that was commented on in some reviews wasn't really noticed, maybe in the peaks season it would be more noticeable.

Not For Light Sleepers!!

Nice accommodation, friendly and helpful hosts and a hearty breakfast (fresh fruit salad was delicious).

The Penarth is in a great location for exploring the area. Sadly though, it is right on a main road and the traffic is pretty constant, with little let up all night (thankfully, I always travel with ear plugs). I must have mis-read the write up when I booked, because I didn't realise this and wouldn't have booked if I had known the location. A nice place to stay though, if that doesn't bother you.
