About the hotel

A family run bed and breakfast and self catering cottage, Lobhill Farmhouse and Stable Cottage offer a warm welcome, quality accommodation and a relaxed and peaceful stay in a stunning location. Situated in the Lew Valley this beautiful farmhouse and cottage is perfectly located for visiting Devon and Cornwall. Both the rugged north coast and the gentle south coast are easily accessible and glorious Dartmoor is just three miles away.

Breakfast is served in the large farmhouse kitchen with a choice of an Aga cooked Full English Breakfast or a lighter option ( visitors to the cottage may also take advantage of breakfast in the farmhouse if they wish ). All ingredients are locally sourced with the eggs being laid just metres away by the hens in the family’s newly planted vineyard. Special dietary requirements can be catered for. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the large garden and relax in the summer house or wander through the woodland, with views of the vineyard and walk further on to the lakeside. Walkers and nature lovers will find a little bit of heaven on the door step. The 20 acre wood and surrounding farmland with the family's newly planted vineyard and Alder lake is wondrously peaceful, a paradise for bird watchers. There are also a number of superb walks on and around Dartmoor and many designated and planned routes locally such as The Two Castles Trail, a 24 mile walk between Okehampton and Launceston Castles. Lobhill Farmhouse is also close to the Sustrans National Cycling Network, Route 27 also known as the Devon Coast to Coast which includes the converted railway path, the Granite way. About 30 minutes away is the Camel Trail at Padstow, one of the most popular recreational routes in the country, passing through the wooded countryside of the upper Camel Valley and alongside the picturesque Camel Estuary - a wildlife haven

Beautiful location and incredible service - Highly recommend

Had a fantastic day.

The location is stunning. Service fantastic (being greeting by "Would you like me to put some biscuits in the oven for you) and great value for money. Highly recommended. Would definitely re-visit.

Wonderful Stay

I arrived a lot later than expected but was welcomed at the door of a very well kept farmhouse in a beautiful location.

Fresh milk was supplied for coffee/tea in the room which is always a welcome surprise (small plastic UHT tubs are not only foul tasting but also a waste of packaging). Breakfast included some freshly baked bread - Sadly on this occasion I wasn't hungry enough to go for a full breakfast but the fruit, yogurt and local honey was delightful. Room was spacious with nice en-suite provisions, WiFi included (unlike many larger accommodation providers) and included a small pot of local fudge was really appreciated.
