The first room was terrible.
Dark and small but what was truly awful was the bed. The mates reminded me of student accomodation on a bad day. However, on the second day we changed rooms and we had a much better appartment. The bed was large and comfortable, the flat larger and lighter with a lovely balcony so all was well in the end.
An Average Place, In A Residential Block Of Flats
This seems to be one of those more and more common things...
Apartments sub-leased from an owner and converted into short term, "managed" apartments. It has a purpose, and a price point well below that of what you'd expect in a hotel. There is no maid service, there is no food service, there is no air conditioning (disappointing, since the infrastructure for Air Con was all in place). There is also no front of house staff to greet or guide you should you need something, you're asked to call a mobile number. None of these things are bad, but they should probably be pointed out to those looking for a more inclusive service. I'd probably stick to recommending Lanterns Court to business travellers who know Canary Wharf well, and are comfortable in looking for a bed and something that isn't a hotel.
