The Manor Country House Hotel
Great location right near A34.
Lovely setting and beautiful inside, it was like staying in a National Trust house. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was lovely and clean, very quiet at night. Breakfast was a bit chaotic as they were using the room straight after for a baby naming ceremony. We had to move near the end of breakfast, but staff were apologetic and kept asking if we were ok or wanted anything else and not to rush. Pub down the road is owned by the hotel and served good food. A relaxing, quiet place for a short break.
Beautiful accommodation but access to the upstairs rooms is a challenge
The property is gorgeous but we struggled greatly with heavy luggage up many narrow stairs, without assistance by staff (who actually watched as my husband dragged this load).
As international visitors on a long holiday abroad, our luggage was considerable and we had no alternative but to bring it inside and up up up this route. We would not have stayed here had we known this piece of information as it really did matter. Staff did not endeavor to accommodate us in another room that was easier to access at any point. Breakfast was fine, dinner at the hotel around the corner, also fine (staff the hotel were fantastic..)
