Adequate for my needs

This was about the last room I could afford during the Open weekend, and I think it was available because it was a single room.

It was clean and comfortable and served a purpose. Situated in a wood east of Edinburgh, close to Wallyford and Musselborough. you would need a car to get anywhere, unless you don't mind walking along main roads to get to the railway station at Wallyford that takes you into Edinburgh.

You get what you pay for.

Outstanding location and the Tower is packed full of history and amazing features but we stopped in one of the lodges around the corner.

Yes we only paid £50 for a night and you get what you pay for ,dusty skirting boards, holes in the celling, a broken door frame in the bathroom with no lock on it and a almost clean shower.

Not deal breakers but something that a Four star hotel should perhaps pay attention too.
