Breakfast and prebook shambles!

Before staying at the Double Tree I had prepaid for breakfast and Prescco afternoon tea - I was assured this would all be attached to my room details.

On arrival the hotel is fantastic and the staff are beyond friendly and helpful. We ordered breakfast on Friday evening for 9.30 but come 10am on the Saturday morning nothing had arrived. reception confirmed my order had been lost and was placed again - by 11am no breakfast arrived at which point we went out to eat and cancelled breakfast - for it to then turn up at 11.30!. I had booked Prosecco afternoon tea for the Saturday afternoon which was delicious and worth every penny - however upon leaving the City Cafe the staff tried to charge us again and then asked for "proof" I had already paid - I was not only embarrased but surprised at the poor communication. After I "proved" I had already paid for this the charge was added to my room anyway and I had to have this removed by reception on our checkout. Overall beautiful hotel with lovely staff but their organisation and communication leaves a lot to be desired!

Very Disappointing

Never stayed at a Doubletree before but was encouraged by the Hilton connection and the £245 rate.

I presumed these would ensure a quality hotel. Not so, room closer to a Premier inn than a Hilton, very small, cheaply furnished, cigarette burns on table, grubby carpet, hard bed. Booked for 2 nights but only stayed 1. Breakfast not included, which given the rate is mean to say the least. There is only one reason they are in the hospitality business, Profit.
