Golden Tulip Braga
Located along the extensive centenarian oaks avenue, between the Shrine of Santa Maria Madalena and the Chapel of Santa Marta de Leão, place of ancient religious pilgrimage, the Hotel was built on the ruins of the Franciscan Convent of Santa Maria Madalena do Monte, built in the late eighteenth century ordered by Dom Miguel.
This Convent was used in the past for the organization of important Events and to accommodate those who seek the perfect place to rest and ill from respiratory diseases, due to the fresh and pure air and the favorable microclimate.
The remaining parts of the old Convent are still visible today inside the Hotel, not only by its decoration, with almost museological display of religious icons and through the usage of stone walls and indoor gardens, but also for the well preserved and beautiful Chapel of Santo António da Paz.
Strategically located at 40km from Porto and at 5 minutes from the historic center of Braga and Shrines of Sameiro and Bom Jesus, we invite you to enjoy the comfort and tranquility of this unique place.
