About the hotel
The Squirrel Inn Country Pub & Dining in Hurtmore provide Bed and Breakfast accommodation "The Cottages". Conveniently located for Godalming and Guildford just off the A3, half way between Portsmouth and London, and within easy reach of many interesting places in this beautiful area. "The Cottages" are an ideal base for both business and leisure guests.
We have eight comfortable en-suite or private bathroom rooms: five doubles and three singles. All rooms have been fully refurbished and finished to a high standard. The building is a listed 16th Century so expect a few low beams and a few creaky floorboards which add to the character! We do not offer a hot option breakfast but cereals, toast, yoghurts and a selection of mini pastries. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, flat screen TV/DVD and alarm clock with iPod docks

Not what I would expect
The room was a bit tired, the TV was tiny, the shower tray did not drain, there was a hole in the window frame.
The restaurant and bar were closed due to an over run of a refurbishment and we could not be notified because our booking was entered in their diary on the wrong day. They had no idea we were due. Other family members staying there were warned but only shortly before their evening arrival so no alternatives could be arranged. Breakfast was a bowel of cereal, make your own toast and one offer of tea and coffee.
Perfect for an overnight stay while on the move
The Squirrel Inn was value for money and a decent venue to spend the night.
I had a single room which was quite small and the private bathroom was across the hallway, but it was clean and tidy, and quiet. The staff in the pub were very friendly and the food for the evening meal and breakfast was first class.
