Absolutely amazing place to stay

This place was amazing such a great character.

The staff were all welcoming and felt like you had known the. For years. As for the food tastes incredible.

Shame it wasn't a great stay- I really wanted to like it, perhaps I was just unlucky

The room and general set-up were lovely but there were various smaller issues which mean I wouldn't stay again and wouldn't recommend it.

One of the reasons I had booked the accommodation was so that I could have a good nights sleep between two busy working days and could continue to work that evening. When I arrived and tried it out I discovered that the internet was not functioning, meaning that I wouldn't be able to work. After some negotiations (and stressing that it was not the same thing for me to spend the evening working at the bar as it would be in my own room), I was grateful that staff were able to give me a portable wi-fi hub to take upstairs- although if I had arrived later I'm not sure this would have been available as there were only two. My room had a thin wooden door with opaque windows set into this which meant that noise and light from the hallway carried into the room. The hall light was left on so that the room was quite light when trying to sleep, and my room was over the boiler which noisily kicked in at 6am, continuing to make loud sounds so that I was unable to get back to sleep- again annoying as I had a full day of work to get through. While the home-made breakfast was very nice (although the fruit was salad was made up of largely unripe fruit), during breakfast I discovered small hairs, like someone had pulled at their beard, over a section of the table so that my butter knife ended up being coated in these. It was really quite disgusting and I asked to move to another table. While these were small things, they added up to not a great stay, a real shame as I really wanted to like the place and had hoped it would be a good find to use in the future. I was also disappointed that there was no enquiry as to how I had slept, if I'd enjoyed my stay, if things were ok after the hair on the table incident. Instead I was told how busy and booked up they were which I'm afraid meant I was left with the impression that my business and my comfort did not matter as they had plenty of custom. I may have just been unlucky with the room and the breakfast table but I wouldn't stay there again.
