One night break
Firstly, and this may not be the venue's fault, but the post code is completely wrong.
The post code will take a SatNav to another village about 2 miles away. Fortunately a phone call to the staff was able to obtain a local post code that got us there. But this really should be sorted. Staff were friendly and helpful. The 'standard double' room was adequate and comfortable but lacking in drawers space for any thing other than a short break. The en-suite was unfortunately very small and barley big enough for the shower WC and basin unit. But this is always a problem where old buildings are converted. The bed was comfortable and provided a good night's sleep. The accommodation was away from the main pub so there was not much noise. When we stayed the restaurant was busy with a large pre booked celebration so the slow service can be forgiven. The food was tasty and the menu varied and overall very good value. Breakfast too was good value. I did not choose them but it was nice to see kippers offered. The pub is a 'gastro' style rather than village local. But still comfortable and with atmosphere, especially as it seems to used by the local community. Overall, a good stay, but unless I took a larger room, I would probably not stay more than a weekend. But excellent for a comfortable business overnight/short term or simple weekend break.
Excellent value for money- rooms pleasantly decorated- customer service -very good- Food of a good standard and both restaurant and bar reasonable price.
would defiantly stay again.
