Overall, a lovely city hotel.

A lovely refurbishment of a convenient city centre hotel.

A great location. Our room was simple, comfortable and pleasant. Clean and fresh apart from a dirty glass with dried red wine in the bottom. Our welcome was very disappointing. We were kept waiting for a couple of minutes whilst two receptionists were talking. When one of the receptionists finally acknowledged us she was miserable and abrupt. Subsequent encounters with other reception staff were much better. They were positive and helpful. Breakfast was fine with plenty to choose from and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel kept our bags after check out to collect later in the day, which was really helpful. Overall, it was a lovely stay. We will stay there again, but reception staff training needs to be refreshed with one or two staff members.
