A lovely surprise
Visiting York for a concert I have to confess that price was a big factor and we didn't expect a lot.
We got a lot. The house is really nice and the guest accomodation is comfortable and well looked-after. The staff members we met were friendly and helpul and the continental breakfast suited us down to the ground - no smell of frying first thing in the morning. We'd happily visit again and would have no hesitation in recommending Diamonds Villa to potential visitors.
The only B&B that I know that should maybe have been called a hostel!.
I the little room that I was in with a tiny TV to match there were no less than three extention leads. The heating in the building comes on after 6pm for a few hours and it would be nice to wake up to some heat too especially on these fresh autumn mornings.
I didn't get to try the breakfast as they don't start serving until 8am a little late for us early risers. If you are planning to park make sure you read the terms of the parking permit they issue you with you may still end up with a parking ticket and it's only valid upto 10am....sucks if you want to have a lay in.
