About the hotel
The Waterwheel Inn and Restaurant was built in the 1700s and was linked with both the tin and clay mining industries. It is set within an acre and a half of woodland valley, beside a river but is only a 10 minute walk from St Austell town. Virtually all of the county can be reached in under an hour making this the ideal base for exploring Cornwall.
Only 4 miles from the The eden Project, 6 from The Lost Gardens of Heligan and close to the unspoilt coastal fishing villages of Fowey, Charlestown and Mevagissey make it perfect for your days out with the convenience of a bar and restaurant to return to for a relaxing evening. Our elegant restaurant serves an extensive A La Carte menu with fresh fish and seafood specials and a home cooked 3 course menu for £16. 00. Breakfasts are usually served in the conservatory overlooking the patio and garden. Please note that the restaurant is closed on Sundays. Please note a 20% non-refundable deposit taken at the time of booking. Please see cancellation policy for other terms and conditions

Clean, friendly and awesome breakfast!
We were extremely late getting there following a long drive and road closures, but they waited up for us and we're very friendly and obliging, room a little on the small side but very clean and the breakfast was amazing.
Well worth the money and would try again if in the area.
Second time staying at the Waterwheel, thought the first was good but the second was even better.
Marc and Francesca excelled themselves with the warm welcome and friendly chat. The food was excellent the room up to the standard that I , at 60 have become accustomed to and my wife and I can't wait to stay again , 5 out of 5 that's stars
